It's August! Which means JFL has ended, but where one festival ends another begins! The Danforth Comedy Festival runs for 5 days in August (4th, 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th) on the Danforth and features some of Canada's top comics including Sean Cullen, Crystal Ferrier, Nathan MacIntosh, Glen Foster, Tim Blair, Rob Haze and many more. The 4th of our Just For Laughs Series of Podcasts featuring to 2 comedians with a combined 4 million Instagram followers! 
First it's Trey Kennedy! Trey is a born and raised Oklahoman who never expected to enter the entertainment industry. While attending college at Oklahoma State University, Trey found fame on the app “Vine”, amassing more than 2.5 million followers. Trey still makes viral worthy videos and is also a successful standup performing his show "Trey Kennedy: Grow Up" at this years JFL Montreal, July 29th 9:30pm at Club Soda.

First Up is Kurtis Conner! Kurtis has sold out shows across North America and the world. After studying comedy at Humber College, Conner quickly found an audience on Vine, later migrating to YouTube and growing that audience to over 4.2 million subscribers worldwide. Kurtis was named one of Variety's Top 10 Comic to Watch and will have two solo shows at this years Just For Laughs in Montreal
Next up is the President of JFL Bruce Hills! Bruce has been the driving force behind the world's biggest comedy festival and most prestigious comedy brand for over 30 years. Bruce oversees Just For Laughs in all its forms in all English speaking markets around the world. Bruce has produced comedy specials for the biggest acts in the world , Anthony Anderson, Trevor Noah, Seth Rogen, Tiffany Hadish and Many More.

Just for The Culture (Formerly The Ethnic Show), is back at JFL Montreal this summer, July 18th to the 26th at Club Soda. The show features a diverse line-up of comedians from various cultural backgrounds and experiences. Two performers from the show are on todays episode, first up its Arthur Simeon. Arthur is a Ugandan-born Toronto-based comedian who has been performing for a decade all over the world. He has opened for Russel Peters and is curious about Pot Lucks! Arthur is back for his 7th trip at Just For Laughs! Next on the show is Zarna Garg, Zarna has a long list of credits including opening for Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, being featured on This American Life and winning Kevin Hart's Lyft Comics. The Nasty Show is one of the premier events on the JFL Schedule! This years Nasty Show is star studded and runs July 18th to the 26th at Club Soda in Montreal. This is the Nasty Show edition of the CCHOF Podcast featuring two comics who will be performing during the shows run. First Up is Geoffrey Asmus, Geoffrey is a regular at the World Famous Comedy Cellar in NYC, was featured on JFL New Faces in 2016 and went to #1on iTunes with his debut album. Next Interview is the Canadian Filth Queen Steph Tolev. The second interview is Juno Nominated Comedian Zabrina Douglas. Zabrina is one of the hardest working comedians in Canada and it has payed off! On this weeks episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Nielsen and Bart Batchelor (Night Sweats, World Doctors) to chat about there new show Psi Cops, which launched June 4th on Adult Swim Canada and streaming Live and On- Demand on Stack TV. This was the most fun I had in an interview, Chris and Bart are hilarious comedians who are using animation to bring the funny. They chat about there new show, how they met, the Canadian Animation industry, the opportunity Adult Swim Canada is giving them and I even teach them about the famous Canadian House Hippo. Wayne and Shuster's list of accomplishments and credits includes inductions into the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame and the most appearances ever on the Ed Sullivan Show. Now there comedy is being revived for a new audience May 25th, 26th and 27th at The Hart House Theatre in Toronto. Paul Bates (Second City, Dan for Mayor) and Aurora Browne (Baroness von Sketch Show) are part of the team that is bringing this show to Toronto. They sat down to talk with Chad about the legacy of Wayne and Shuster, what this show means to their grandchildren and the challenges that come with adapting such legendary sketches.
