Episode 41 is all about the new show on Amazon Prime Video (Canada ) and Hulu (US ), Davey & Jonesie's Locker. The show is a coming-of-age comedy centered on the relationship between two inseparable best friends, Davey & Jonesie. The shows creator Evany Rosen joins the podcast, Evany a founding member of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning comedy troupe Picnicface, and has years of comedy writing experience with partners such as CBC, Crave, Disney, DreamWorks, AppleTV and Cartoon Network. Next Up is stars Veronika Slowiska and Jaelynn Thora Brooks. Veronika has recently grown a huge following for her quirky skits and comedy on TikTok garnering her over 390k followers, with her videos getting 13 million views. Episode 40 is all about the hosts! Although both guests are American they have some serious Canadian ties. First is Hunter March! Hunter is the New Host of Netflix Blown Away, a Canadian Produced show that was filmed in Hamilton. Hunter is a Stand Up who has also hosted Sugar Rush on Netflix and Nightly Pop on E! Next is Marc Summers, Marc was the host many kids grew up with, he was the host of Double Dare on Nickelodeon in the Early 90's and at one point was Howie Mandel's opener. More recently Marc has been hosting on the Food Network and can now be seen Performing Off Broadway in his show The Life and Slimes of Marc Summers! Marc also has an awesome podcast, Marc Summers Unwraps which can be heard anywhere you listen to podcasts!

Next up is Elvira Kurt, Elvira is one of Canada's greatest comics, she has performed at JFL and was the host of PopCultured. Next Up is former Netflix employee fresh off of quitting her job, its Leslie Liao. Leslie will also be at JFL Vancouver for two shows on Feb 23rd. Leslie was a former JFL New Face and talks about her time performing on the Tonight Show.

Originally from Halifax Nathan has performed on The Tonight Show, The Late Show and Conan. Nathan also wrote and starred in ‘Trapped’, which is on Bell Fibe. Next Up is Che Durena, He is best known for his work as a host and writer for My Most Amazing Top 10, and he has amassed a social media following of over 7 million with over 160 million likes on his viral TikTok rants and commentary! Steve of course is known as the co-creator and star of the hit Canadian sketch show The Red Green Show which ran for 300 episodes and 15 season. The Class of 2023 Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame has been announced! Chad reveals all the names who will go into this years class at a ceremony in February in Hamilton. Two big interviews are also on the show! First up is Kenny Hotz, star of Kenny vs Spenny, South Park writer, producer and director. Kenny talks about the makings of his show with Spenny, inside the South Park writers room and the early days of Yuk Yuks. Next up is one of the best standups in the game today Dave Merheje! Dave is a touring comic who is a staple at JFL, he's an actor appearing in the Emmy nominated show Ramy, Mr D on CBC and the upcoming movie Sometimes I Think About Dying with Daisy Ridley! Carolyn has a hilarious new show called I Have Nothing (named after Whitney Houston 1992 classic). The series follows Carolyn on a comical quest to choreograph the perfect, full-length pairs figure skating routine and features famous athletes like David Pelletier, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Brian Orser, Kurt Browning, Paul Martini, Barbara Underhill, Katarina Witt and many more. The New Wave of Stand Up kicks off August 28th on CBC Gem with a full lineup of incredible comedians. Two of the stars are on this weeks podcast. First up is Ben Sosa Wright, Ben is stand-up comedian, writer, and improviser from Toronto, he was named a 2022 JFL New Face: Canada. Ben was also named one of CBC’s 15 Canadian Comics To Watch in 2019. If you are a fan of Tyra Banks or Amanda Bynes this is the interview for you!
